Recapping Weeks 15 and 16 of Kathie J. and Larry’s weight loss journey

Setting yourself up to keep off the weight involves a big life change. Larry and Kathie J. have done an awesome job over the last four months making that happen.

They showed up to play every single week and did everything I asked of them. They weren’t perfect — but this isn’t about being perfect — and they gave 110 percent. You can see and hear the difference. I couldn’t be happier, and I am blessed that I was part of their journey. It has been so fun to watch them change.

Kathie J. and Larry made me laugh every day. Be sure to tune in to Jammin’ 101.5 — if not, you’re really missing out. Their journey isn’t over. Keep following their stories to see how they pay it forward.

You Have Changed So Much – Celebrate That!

This is when we get to celebrate how far we’ve come. In Week 15 of State of Slim, we reflect on what we have accomplished and what has changed in four months. People get caught up in what they have yet to do — maybe lose five or 10 more pounds, or still accomplish something at the gym — that you lose track of where you came from.

Like a lot of people, When Larry and Kathie J. started State of Slim, they focused on the scale, wondering how much weight they could lose. By Week 15, it’s cool to see how their priorities have shifted, how this has become about so much more than weight. That is a good sign because this is not about a number on a scale — it’s about how you want to live your life and making that happen for yourself.

What to Do When You Reach Your Weight Loss Goals

Week 16 is a good time to set new goals and decide what your next journey will be. I don’t believe there is an end to your journey; there’s just another destination.

Everybody has to clear about whether they’re going to stay in weight loss or switch to weight maintenance.

Whatever you decide, everybody leaves week 16 with a plan for what is next. By this time, we’ve set you up for success no matter which path you choose. Now you know that you have the power to change things, that you don’t have to settle for sitting on the sidelines. Now, maybe you love yourself a little bit more and believe you can make your dream life a reality.

That’s the funny thing about State of Slim: It’s not so much a weight loss program, even though you lose weight while you’re going through it. It’s really a weight-loss maintenance program that teaches you how to hold on to these behaviors forever.

Your Takeaway:

You can either move forward from where you are or you can decide to put in the hard work to be unstuck. Either way, it’s your choice. In just four months, we’ve seen huge changes from Larry and Kathie J., and it could be the same for you. They have shown us that it is worth it. If you’re sitting there thinking, “I can’t do this,” give it a try. We would love to have you in one of our State of Slim groups. Sign up on our website and we will make sure to get you in a class.
